As we approach the end of November, it’s the perfect moment to look back on some of the highlights from the past month—both on the farm and abroad. From new developments in our fynbos fields to international exposure at Trade Fair Aalsmeer, here’s what’s been happening at FreshCap, your trusted South African flower grower.
On the Farm
The days are getting longer and warmer, and the change of season is unmistakable on the farm. Sun-soaked fields mean more wildlife sightings (including the occasional snake), and our farm team is always grateful when a cool breeze sweeps through.
This month marked the end of the Waxflower and Rice Flower seasons. With harvesting now wrapped up, our teams have shifted their focus to pruning and clearing the fields to ensure optimal stem length and healthy growth for next season’s flower production.
We’ve also been laying down new irrigation systems as part of our ongoing development plans. These new installations will support upcoming plantings and future expansion—another exciting step forward in our commitment to innovation and high-quality Cape Flora production.

In the Netherlands
Trade Fair Aalsmeer 2025 was once again a fantastic success! Held from 4–6 November, this international floral event continues to be a highlight on the global floriculture calendar. It brings together growers, buyers, suppliers, and floral enthusiasts from around the world to explore new flower varieties, trends, and innovations.
Our Netherlands team, Noud and Kristel, represented FreshCap at our stand, with Freddie and Renate flying in from South Africa. A huge thank-you to everyone who stopped by—we loved connecting with industry partners, meeting new customers, and showcasing the beauty and diversity of Cape Flora and fynbos.
