Protea Esme in Peak Season
As autumn settles over South Africa, the fields come alive with the harvest of exquisite proteas, including the delicate and distinctive Protea Esme. Unlike the robust, waxy exterior of many protea varieties, Esme stands out with its soft, feathery petals in hues of light green and rust red. This unique texture gives it an elegant, almost whimsical appearance, making it a sought-after favourite among floral enthusiasts.

Cape Epic Crosses FreshCap’s Fynbos Fields
This year’s Absa Cape Epic, held from 17 to 24 March, 2024, once again pushed riders to their limits across South Africa’s rugged terrain. Known as the “Tour de France of mountain biking,” this gruelling eight-day stage race covers hundreds of kilometres of relentless climbs, technical descents, and breathtaking landscapes. The excitement reached new heights as a section of the race passed through one of FreshCap’s farms in the Cape Winelands, where cyclists powered through scenic fynbos fields, adding a truly South African touch to their incredible journey.
Well done to everyone involved!

Cooking Fun with the FreshCap Team
At FreshCap, hard work is at the heart of what we do, but so is having fun! Recently, the team stepped out of the office and into the kitchen for a Mediterranean Cooking Class with Spicy Apples Catering Services. From mastering the perfect steak to whipping up creamy hummus and fresh, vibrant salads, everyone got to sharpen their culinary skills. It was a fantastic way to unwind, share laughs, and strengthen our team spirit—because great food always brings people together!
