We also have an extensive range of other exotics and bouquets made from these unique products. Our indigenous flowers are exported to flower wholesalers around the world.

Recognized as the smallest of world’s six floral kingdoms, the Cape Floral Region, as it is also known, has the highest known concentration of plant species in the world. While the area is relatively small, it is extremely rich in the abundance of species found. In fact, more than two-thirds of all the plant species found here do not naturally grow anywhere else on earth – This is why we take great pride in being a Cape Floral grower & exporter!

Fynbos, meaning “fine bush”, is indigenous and unique to South Africa’s Western Cape region. An extremely diverse plant species, Fynbos makes up 80% of the Cape Floral Kingdom species and is primarily composed of the Protea, Restio, Heath and Erica families. This kind of vegetation thrives in good quality, well-drained soil in a temperate climate with frost-free winters and hot summers.

A member of the Proteaceae family, the Protea is represented by many species that are only found in the Southern hemisphere. The name Protea was derived from the Greek mythological god, Proteus, who could assume any shape he wanted. As the myth goes, Proteus knew everything – the past, present and future – but did not like divulging his knowledge and used his shape-shifting ability to avoid doing so. Like Proteus who could assume any shape he wanted, the numerous Protea species differ enormously in shape, size and habitat.
